Yoga For Athletes
Yoga brings great cross-training benefits.
Having run 3 marathons (& trained for 7, long story!) & also loving both cycling & hiking, Liagh knows how much Yoga can help in this regard.
Liagh also walked the full 888km Camino de Santiago in 2014, doing a lil Yoga each day along 'The Way'.
Yoga can help ease all kinds of aches & pains, whether the kind associated with that type of hiking odyssey, to the kinds that crop up in our 'everyday' lives.
Benefits of Yoga For All
Yoga helps us recover from & cope with life's many ups & downs.
From the physical challenges of tough sessions at the gym to long hilly bike rides, from the challenges of long days hunched over at our desks to months & years of looking after family, from hours on our feet engaged in physical labour to all kinds of mental & emotional challenges that come our way just through being alive on this planet - illness, injury, grief & so much more.
Yoga helps strengthen our core & other key muscles that we need to move comfortably & efficiently.
Yoga helps improve our balance & our breathing.
Yoga helps us to bring some calm & ease into our lives.
Yoga Through Cancer
Liagh trained in adaptive Yoga & has taught at two cancer support centres for many years now. Having gone through cancer treatment, she knows very well the great help Yoga can be, on so many levels. If you (or a loved one) are currently in treatment, or have recently been through cancer treatment, you can attend online classes with Liagh on Wednesday mornings, only through registering directly with ARC Cancer Support centre.
Accessible Yoga
As a qualified Accessible Yoga Teacher, Liagh loves being able to share Yoga's many benefits. Yoga is for ALL of us, not just the fit, young, well & wealthy. Teaching Community Yoga now through the auspices of both Cork City and Cork County Councils, as well as partnering with Cork Sports Partnership & other local Community Groups too, like our fantastic public libraries, Liagh enjoys bringing Yoga to people in relaxed & informal local settings.
Why Practice Yoga?
By developing a regular suitable practice, we are better equipped, on & off the mat, to go about our daily lives, feeling physically more at ease & more centred & calm within.
The purpose of EveryDay Yoga Ireland is to share with people the truth that Yoga is an ‘everyday’ kind of practice - something attainable to us all, whether that is in class together or at home online, in a chair, at a desk, or outside in the fresh air.
